In 2018, Bonita was still offered in around 750 own retail stores and via its own online shop. A planned sale of the subsidiary to the Dutch Victory & Dreams International Holding failed at the end of 2019. At the end of 2020, Managing Director Karsten Oberheide, who has been with Bonita since 2018, and a team of investors took over Bonita as part of a management buy-out.
