The German women’s fashion chain Bonita was founded in 1969 and became part of the Tom Tailor Group in 2012. The number of branches has since decreased steadily. In 2019, the group wanted to sell Bonita to Victory & Dreams, the Dutch parent company of Miller & Monroe and Witteveen Mode. That sale ultimately fell through due to the bankruptcy of Victory & Dreams.

In 2020 Bonita had approximately 450 stores and 52 shop-in-shops in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Of these, 65 were stores in the Netherlands.
