The statue of the first British Governor of Malta, Alexander Ball, and a monument in remembrance of the Great Siege in Malta complements the garden. Even though the gardens are quite small, they are very popular with both locals and tourist who would like to spend a relaxing time in the city. In addition, the terrace area features a number of commemorative plaques dedicated to, amongst others, the Hungarian revolution of 1956, the Prague spring, Giuseppe Garibaldi and the 50th anniversary of the European Union.
