Mandraki is the capital of Nisyros in Greece and is the largest settlement on the island. It is also the harbour of the island and contains many of the island’s facilities of tourism such as hotels and apartments. The population is around 682 (in 2021).

There are many beaches and different places to eat and drink in Mandraki. Right next to the village is the Spiliani Monastery from 1315. From here there is a view over the village. From the port of the village many boats sail to the nearby island of Kos. The island is also popular as a day trip from Kos. Buses leave from the port to the rest of the island, mainly to the crater of the volcano Nisyros.

The village square of Mandraki (Platia Ilikiomeni) is called the most beautiful square of the Dodecanese archipelago. It is authentic with the small terraces of local taverns and kafénions. Around it you will find white block houses with blue shutters, often folded open, and the village church.
