Spoorzone In Tilburg, The Netherlands

The ‘Spoorzone’ (Railway Zone) of approximately one kilometer long is located at Station Tilburg, the Netherlands. From 1868 to 2011 was the main workshop of the Dutch Railways here situated. The area was then virtually closed to outsiders and had the nickname ‘Verboden Stad’ (Forbidden City). In 2011 the workshop was canceled and since then the area was developed into an urban area.

The Spoorzone is the area that lies within the Spoorlaan and Hart van Brabantlaan on the south side, Sint Ceciliastraat to the west, the nieuwe Burgemeester Broxlaan on the north side and the railway plaza on the east side. In the center of the area is the central train station of Tilburg.
