Located at Hoogstraat 47, 4285 AG Woudrichem, the restaurant was housed in a monumental building, the former 16th-century town hall (Oude Raedthuys), now a national heritage site. Guests praised its cozy, Burgundian ambiance, stylish interior, and fireplace — a place where you immediately felt at home. The menu offered a wide range: French, Dutch, seafood, and European cuisine, including modern fusion and Mediterranean influences. Dishes included creative options such as tuna tartare tacos with fresh lime and crunchy spring onions. The restaurant was popular for private dining, weddings, and parties, thanks to its multiple floors and inviting terrace.
After 14 years, ‘t Oude Raedthuys permanently closed its doors on October 1, 2023. The owners, Willeke van Wijk and Marieke Meulman, made the decision after years of working 70–80 hours a week and wanting to seek a new challenge. In their farewell, they expressed gratitude and fondness for the many special moments with their guests. For them, the restaurant was not just a business, but also a place where community spirit and culinary passion came together.
